Sometimes life has a strange way of making you feel like you are falling behind, especially when it seems like everyone else has already found their place. You watch people get the opportunities you wanted, build the relationships you prayed for, sit at tables you thought you were supposed to be sitting at, and you start wondering what is wrong with you. You begin questioning your timing, your choices, even your worth. But maybe the table you were trying so hard to reach was never meant to be yours in the first place.
Maybe some doors had to close because there was another door waiting for you. Maybe some people had to leave because they were never meant to walk into the next chapter with you. Maybe some plans had to fall apart because they were leading you toward a life that looked good from the outside but would have slowly made you lose yourself.
I have learned that not every rejection is a punishment. Not every delay means you are forgotten. Not every goodbye means you lost something valuable. Sometimes life removes you from places you were desperately trying to belong because it knows you are meant for somewhere else.
And when you finally arrive at that place, you will understand why it took so long. You will understand why certain people could not stay. Why certain opportunities never worked out. Why you had to spend seasons alone. Why you had to outgrow certain versions of yourself just to become someone who could recognize what genuine belonging actually feels like.
The right table will not require you to shrink yourself just to have a seat. You will not have to beg to be included, constantly prove your worth, or wonder whether people actually want you there. You will simply belong. You will be surrounded by people who appreciate who you are, opportunities that make sense for the person you are becoming, and a kind of peace that does not require you to constantly fight for it.
So if you feel like you are still waiting, keep going. If it feels like everyone else has found their place while you are still wandering, trust the process. Your story is not late. Your life is not behind. You are not being forgotten.
There is still a seat waiting for you at a table you have not even seen yet.
And when you finally sit there, surrounded by the people, places, and opportunities that are truly meant for you, you may look back at everything you once cried over and realize that some of the biggest disappointments in your life were actually God making room for something better.
Maybe you were never being left out.
Maybe you were being redirected.
